Our main jobs are maintaining township roads and running elections.

We typically meet the second Tuesday of each month starting at 7 pm at the Hobart Town Hall. You are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The annual township meeting is typically held at 8:15 PM on the second Tuesday in March, following the township election and regular March meeting.

The township election is typically held on the second Tuesday in March. Polls are usually open from 4-7 p.m. We will post Election Notices on our home page with specific information each year prior to the election.

Filing for town board positions can be done at the home of the Clerk. The filing periods typically begins on December 31st and ends in mid January.

The first election in Hobart Township was held at the home of N. Henry on July 22, 1871.

Our first town hall was built in 1904 and remained in use for 110 years! It was sold to a local Amish family when our current town hall was completed in 2014. This building cost a total of $250,000 and was approved and funded over two years, $100,000 then another $150,000 the following year. It hosts township meetings and also many community meetings, banquets, and special events each year. Use is free of charge for township residents.
